New iPad Overheating?
Is The New iPad Overheating?
So, is the new iPad overheating, or is it all just hype? If you are the proud owner of a brand new and highly expensive iPad 3 (known as New iPad) you may find your lap in some hot water. It seems that the device is prone to overheating in specific places on the unit, bu all hope is not lost.
Through some independent testing, it was confirmed that indeed…the iPad 3 does get very hot during normal operation. After some various gameplay and heavy graphics use on the new iPad, it was determined that getting the device up to a staggering 98 degrees was fairly easy.
The reason for this is simple. It takes a lot of processing power to power some of the more popular games available on the iPad as well as it does when you watch movies on it. While the temperature certainly would not be very comfortable for a long time if you sat with the ipad on your lap, it is not going to fry you.
You also won’t be cooking any food on the back of your iPad because of the heat. It is believed that the higher resolution display on the unit is what causes the new iPad overheating issue. With this in mind it is recommended for users to enjoy playing with their iPad with less screen brightness to avoid heat exhaustion.
So there you have it. For $800+ you can not actually use your new iPad for too long or it will burn the hell out of your lap!
